Rainbow Loom Bands – Not Just Ordinary Rubber Bands

Loom Bands are not just your ordinary rubber bands. They are made to be smaller so kids can play with them and create beautiful crafts. They normally measure 2 inches (51mm) by 8 inches (200mm). They have push pin-type pegs in which the Rainbow Loom Bands can be looped and pulled by a loom crochet hook.

A standard loom band kit contains a loom (or pegboard), a loom hook, a set of specially made C-shaped clips (so you can connect both ends of the bands), and a number of small rubber bands in different colours.

A DIY Dad Invented the Loombands

A businessman by the name of Cheong Choon Ng invented what we know now as the loom band. He noticed his daughters loved to make bracelets out of the ordinary rubber bands. Mr Ng once joined them in the activity but he had a hard time weaving the bands because they were too large. So he used his DIY skills and business acumen to develop an idea that will make it easier for both kids and parents to make great crafts with rubber bands.
