What is the Difference between Pokémon Scarlet and Violet?
The basic differences between Pokémon Scarlet and Pokemon Pokémon Violet are the colour and theme. However, both of them basically play out the same game structure. Other Pokemon Scarlet and Violet differences you can find are:
- their professors
- time
- academies and school uniform
- exclusive Pokémon and legendaries
Professors
For first time in the Pokémon series, these new generation games have version-exclusive professors. For Pokémon Scarlet, the prof is named Sada; while in Pokémon Violet, it is Turo. These 2 professors make up the thematic differences between the versions.
Time
Pokémon Scarlet embodies the past (with its prehistoric setting), while Pokémon Violet embodies the future (with its futuristic theme).
Academies and School Uniform
The school in Pokémon Scarlet is named Naranja Academy, and in Pokémon Violet, it is Uva Academy. School uniform is red in Scarlet and (of course) violet in Violet. There are differences too in their respective school badges.
Exclusive Pokémon and Legendaries
From Koraidon and Miraidon which make up the box art, to the established dragons like Larvitar and Bagon and their evolutions, each version has a small pool of exclusive Pokémon and legendaries to discover. Both also include a range of future or past varieties that you can find only when you reach the end game.
Pokémon TCG Scarlet and Violet
With the new Pokémon Scarlet and Violet series, the Pokemon Trading Card Game follows suit, taking its own new adjustments to card aesthetic, pack contents, and other hallmarks. It’s more fun for PTCG players!
Prehistoric Power: Charge into battle with the raw ancient power of Koraidon ex and its Dino Cry Ability. It can be difficult to get Energy into the discard pile in order to use this Ability, but Revavroom's Rumbling Engine Ability is a great way to do that while also drawing cards! Ordinarily, Koraidon's Rampaging Fang attack would be difficult to use for 3 and 1 Energy, but with Revavroom discarding Energy and Koraidon ex accelerating that same Energy, it will be ready to go in no time.
Futuristic Flash: Set up in a flash with the Legendary Pokémon Miraidon making its Pokémon TCG debut as Miraidon ex. Miraidon ex's Tandem Unit Ability allows you to search your deck for up to two Basic Pokémon and put them onto your Bench. To really get your game plan up and running, charge up attackers like Magnezone ex and Miraidon ex by using the powerful Item card Electric Generator—this Item card lets you look at the top five cards of your deck and attach up to two Basic Energy cards to your Benched Pokémon any way you like.
