The icy hype has come… and yet, it's still brewing the bubbles of hysteria among the fans of Elsa and Anna! It has been a while since Disney’s Frozen II was first shown in movie houses across Australia, and many kids (and parents) are still puffed up with the frenzy caused by Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, and Olaf. While the first Frozen film is still stuck in the minds of many children (who are likely to be young adults now), Frozen II makes a mark in pop culture that is totally unique and can stand on its own apart from its predecessor.
A month before the scheduled release of Frozen II in Australian theatres, we published an article discussing what fans expect to see in the new Frozen movie sequel. The number 1 item that came up in that list is about the songs. Yes, the Frozen trademark is known for its music and SONGS! And Frozen II did not disappoint – the songs made their way into our hearts and will likely be stuck there for a lifetime.
So we posted a poll on our website to ask our loyal customers and fans about their most favourite song in Frozen II, the one song that really strikes it home. The survey ran for a week and was answered by random people across Australia – no age restrictions! Were you among those who participated in the poll?
Interestingly, 48% said that they have not (yet) seen the movie. Maybe they prefer to watch it in the comfort of their homes. If you are one of those who haven’t watched it yet, the DVD/Blu-ray is scheduled to be released by end of February this year. Or you can stream it right now in popular streaming platforms.
There are 6 songs that made it to this list, so here they are.
6. Next Right Thing
Anna’s solo song hangs on number 6. It’s obvious that the folks who picked this song are solid fans of Anna! But kidding aside, it’s an amazing song that talks about hope and doing the next right thing when everything’s not going right.
5. Lost in the Woods
We never really got the chance to see Kristoff sing a full song in the first Frozen, but in Frozen II, it’s a blast! Lost in the Woods is a great love song for all those who are hopelessly romantic.
4. Show Yourself
Elsa gets to sing 2 solo songs in Frozen II. Some say that this track should have been the movie’s cover song, as it is perceived to be at par with the “most memorable Disney song of all” – Let It Go from the first Frozen. Apparently, Show Yourself indeed has some similarities with Let It Go with regards to its theme and sequence, though there’s a brief interlude by Queen Iduna near the end.
3. Into the Unknown
Serving as the cover song of the movie, Into the Unknown is sung by Elsa. Although it comes as number 3 on this list, it’s the top hit song for the little ones! Some grownups who chose this song said they love it because it teaches children to be brave in facing their fears.
In the pop version, Into the Unknown is performed by the American pop rock band, “Panic! At the Disco.”
2. Some Things Never Change
Top 2 on the list is a song sung by all of the main characters, starting from Anna and Olaf, then Kristoff (and Sven), to Elsa and the people of Arendelle. It’s a great song with a catchy tune and easy to sing lyrics, and it talks about being steady in a world where constant change is the norm.
And finally, the song that ruled over the rest…
1. All Is Found
In Frozen II, we see Queen Iduna sing a song… in a flashback! This character, gets to sing a lovely lullaby. This lullaby got the most hits from our fans because it strikes home to both parents and children – aside from its soothing melody and story-telling lyrics.
Other Songs
Actually, there are only 7 full songs in Frozen II, and the one song that did not make it to the above tier is Sven’s When I Am Older. Sadly, nobody picked this one out.
However, Disney has released a soundtrack that includes songs originally intended for the movie but did not quite make it to the play list. And surprisingly, one poll participant chose Get This Right, a song from the soundtrack but wasn’t played in the film.
