If you have (or have had) LEGO toys in your home, you know the pain of stepping on this little nasty bricks on the floor by accident. LEGO is adored by kids and adult hobbyists, and its playsets can be enjoyed by both parents and their children together. The thrill of building the sets gets even more fun as new LEGO models are released from time to time.
However, stepping on LEGO bricks can bring a kind of lightning pain you don’t want any of your loved ones to feel, much less your children. Some people on the Internet have made fun of this situation by creating memes about it.
If you don't want anyone sneaking into your room while you are sleeping, throw several LEGO bricks on the floor. Any intruder who dares sneak in your room will scream in excruciating pain once they step on those unwanted bricks!
But did you know that LEGO thought of doing something to protect your feet from these unwelcome incidents? And no, it’s not about making the LEGO bricks a bit squishier!
LEGO group released what they call the LEGO Slippers, and these slippers are specially designed to act as buffer for your feet against the pain of stepping on misplaced LEGO bricks. LEGO made a limited run of these overly padded slippers in 2015 and distributed them randomly. The slippers were sold on LEGO’s French website, and they were like a way to say “sorry” to those people who were hurt by their bricks (sort of).
The LEGO Legacy
LEGO’s legacy as an entertaining family toy will never fade! The thing is, it has also left us a legacy of being a “pain on the sole” (wink). Even if the bricks have bright colours, you still tend to ignore their presence on the floor, thereby unwittingly forcing you to step on them. What compounds it more is that the bricks have tiny bumps that make them cling to your sole like asbestos to your lungs.
Children do love LEGO! However, there are just some kids who can win an award for leaving these small but painful objects all over the floor. And because they tend to be easy going with their LEGO toys, some pieces can go missing. Then, they get a “search till they cry” problem as they won’t be able to complete their LEGO builds because of the missing pieces. Well, don’t worry! You will find those pieces… once you get to step on them. :) Even wearing socks won’t stop you from feeling the bumps.
Protect Your Feet
The LEGO Slippers were available for a limited time only. If you have missed the chance to buy a pair, don’t be disappointed! A pair of regular slippers can do just the thing. But then again, wearing slippers inside the comfort of your home is not something you do all the time. So, we guess you still won’t be exempt from the excruciating experience.
But all kidding aside, you cannot deny how LEGO provides wholesome entertainment to both the young and old, how it gives families the opportunity to bond and spend quality time with each other, and how it trains young minds to be more creative and resourceful – skills that will be beneficial as they grow up.
You do need to make the experience as safe and “painless” as possible! So make sure you get a huge box to go hand in hand with your LEGO journey, particularly when it’s time to put them aside.
