Which do you think is the colour that best represents our home planet? Some say it should be green; in fact, most environmentalists equate Mother Earth with green – given that it’s the colour that suggests life and vegetation. Others say it should be blue since Earth is made up of mostly water, which is 71% of our planet; in fact, if you go to outer space, you will see Planet Earth as having a distinct blue colour. Scientists don’t call Earth the “Blue Planet” without reason.
Whether you think our planet is green or blue (or any other colour), that’s practically OK. Diversity on Earth is very much alive! However, today’s blog post gives a special attribution to the colour of the sky and sea! We highlight our favourite characters that have influenced our childhoods, with the distinction of being identified with the colour blue.
