Transformers Movies

They say that the 1980s to early 90s is the era of awesome cartoon shows! Many children who lived and grew up in this period are lucky to have witnessed the boom of animated action series that are now timeless classics and have stamped a mark in pop culture history. Some of these shows have even been made into movies, allowing today’s youngsters to get a glimpse of how the characters and stories impacted their parents' childhoods.

One of the greatest shows in that period is the Transformers! Because of the immense popularity of the Transformers, its producers did not settle with just one movie – all are box office hits – packed with believable characters, action sequences, and spectacular visual effects. What's more is that present-day fans can enjoy watching spin-offs and reboot versions of the Transformers on different viewing platforms.

“More Than Meets the Eye!” That’s the slogan you hear when you watch the Transformers. And true to the core, they are not always what you see them to be – the Transformers are living, human-like robots with the unique ability to turn themselves into vehicles or beasts. One moment you see them as a robot, and another second you see them turn into something else! That's why they are called Transformers – they are sentient robots that TRANSFORM.

The story of the Transformers, their lives, their hopes, their struggles, and their triumphs are chronicled in epic sagas that span a riveting and exciting universe where everything is indeed “More Than Meets the Eye.”

How Many Transformers Movies Are There?

1. Transformers (2007)

For centuries, 2 races of robotic aliens – the Autobots and the Decepticons – have waged a war, with the fate of the universe at stake. When the battle comes to Earth, all that stands between the evil Decepticons and ultimate power is a clue held by young Sam Witwicky (Shia Labeouf). An average teenager, Sam is consumed with everyday worries about school, friends, cars, and girls. Unaware that he alone is mankind’s last chance for survival, Sam and his friend Mikaela (Megan Fox) find themselves in a tug of war between the Autobots and Decepticons. With the world hanging in the balance, Sam comes to realise the true meaning behind the Witwicky family motto, “No sacrifice, no victory!”

2. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009)

The sequel to one of the most popular, adventure-packed franchises of all time brings even MORE thrill and action from your favourite sentient, transforming robots! In the highly anticipated Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Decepticon forces return to Earth on a mission to take Sam Witwicky prisoner, after the young hero learns the truth about the ancient origins of the Transformers. He must accept his destiny and join Optimus Prime and Bumblebee in their epic battle against the Decepticons, who have returned stronger than ever with a plan to destroy our world.

3. Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011)

As Sam Witwicky tries to pull together a relatively normal life for himself following the events that took him around the globe, forces greater than what he has yet contended are planning an all-out assault on one of Earth's greatest cities. A mysterious event from Earth's past threatens to ignite a war so big that the Transformers alone will not be able to save the planet. Sam, now working and living in downtown Chicago, must once again join forces with the Autobots to fight against the darkness and defend our world from the Decepticons’ all-consuming evil.

4. Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014)

The Battle of Chicago caused humanity much aversion and distrust toward both Decepticon and Autobot alike, leaving humans and all of Earth open to a more insidious and ancient foe long dormant on Planet Earth. As humanity picks up the pieces, a shadowy group reveals itself in an attempt to control the direction of history… while an ancient, powerful new menace sets Earth on a different kind of threat. With help from a new cast of humans, Optimus Prime and the Autobots rise to meet their most fearsome challenge yet. In an incredible adventure, they are swept up in a gruesome war between good and evil, ultimately leading to a climactic battle across the world.

5. Transformers: The Last Knight (2017)

Everything has changed! Even Optimus Prime himself has been lost… Cyberton's greatest hero becomes our fiercest enemy when Optimus Prime launches a mission to save Cybertron by destroying Earth. Now, Bumblebee and Cade Yeager must lead the Autobots against their former ally in the ultimate battle to save mankind from annihilation. The Last Knight shatters the core myths of the Transformers franchise, and re-defines what it means to be a hero. Humans and Transformers are at war; Optimus Prime is gone. The key to saving the future lies buried in the secrets of the past, in the hidden history of Transformers on Earth. Saving the world falls upon the shoulders of an unlikely alliance: Cade Yeager, Bumblebee, an English Lord, and an Oxford Professor. The hunted will become heroes. Heroes will become villains. Only one world will survive, theirs or ours.
