Alien’s Pizza Planet – A Better Place

If you search the Net to find out which movie is the most liked and most loved by many toy enthusiasts, you’ll see one common result – it’s the Toy Story film series. Although, there are several flicks about toys, the Toy Story flicks come on top (obviously, the movie title speaks for itself) primarily because the characters are practically the “toys” themselves.

One of the funniest and most memorable scenes in Toy Story is the one in Pizza Planet. Remember the restaurant with an arcade inside, frequently visited by Andy (and his mum)? Fans are particularly fond of the scene when Woody and Buzz got trapped inside a claw machine surrounded by green alien toys, otherwise called as the Squeeze Alien toys or the Green Men. These little green aliens worshipped what they called as “The Claw” as they thought it would help them get out of the glass case that imprisoned them. They would shout, “The claw… the claw,” over and over in unison until it has grabbed and lifted someone from among them.

You can actually enjoy the same experience and ambiance with the recently opened restaurant in Disneyland’s Tomorrowland (well, except being grabbed by a claw thing). The restaurant is called Alien’s Pizza Planet – A Better Place. This newly established restaurant was restored and re-themed from the previous Redd Rockett’s Pizza Port.

The funny thing about this restaurant, which is themed from the fictional place in Toy Story, is that it isn’t located in Toy Story Land (the Disney resort which has all Toy Story related amusements in it). As mentioned, Alien’s Pizza Planet can be found inside Tomorrowland, a futuristic resort inside Disneyland, California.

Well, if you are after more Toy Story related fun fair, there is a Toy Story Land theme park which is located inside Disney World in Florida. Some of the amusements you can find in there are the Slinky Dog Dash – a roller coaster ride which can be enjoyed by the young and old, the Toy Story Mania – a 4D arcade where you can experience being blasted away, and the Alien Swirling Saucers. You may even bump into one of the characters or pass through an army of little green aliens. Yet, if you want the experience of being inside Alien’s Pizza Planet, then you need to go to Tomorowland.

Inside Tomorrow Land, you can enjoy a number of exciting amusements such as the Astro Orbiter, Space Mountain and Stitch's Great Escape just to name a few. Aside from the Alien’s Pizza Planet – A Better Place, there are other cool restaurants you will find in the resort, like the Auntie Gravity Galactic Goodies and the Cool Ship.

Fun trivia: The tagline “A Better Place” refers to the aliens’ belief that they would go to a better place once they are chosen by “The Claw.” These little green aliens are a big part of the new restaurant’s look.

One thing is for sure – we will always love Toy Story and its succeeding flicks. Fans will constantly look for places, items and accessories that will allow them to re-live and experience their favourite scenes in the Toy Story movies.
